Yes. Feder detects the fields in the PDF, including checkboxes and drop-down lists. When you save, everything is written permanently into the document, so the entries don't show up empty for the recipient, as happens with some programs. The result opens in any PDF program.

For most signatures, no: Feder can prepare fields, required fields, a fixed order, a client mode on a tablet and sending via link or QR code, free and without an account. If you need a qualified electronic signature, a cloud archive or team management, a paid platform is the better choice.

Yes. No subscription, no trial, no pro version, no limits. Feder is funded by clearly labeled sponsor logos at the edge – never in the document.

No. Feder opens, edits and saves PDFs only on your device, in the browser version too. Try it in airplane mode.

The only exception: if you choose to send a document to a client via link or QR code, it briefly passes through our server – end-to-end encrypted. The key is only in the link, so we can't read the document. It is deleted after signing, at the latest after 24 hours.

Feder creates a simple electronic signature under eIDAS. That's enough for most contracts, orders, powers of attorney, consents and advisory records, because the law prescribes no specific form for them. An audit page with date and fingerprint increases its evidential value.

It is not enough where the law requires written form: consumer loans, fixed-term employment contracts or residential leases of more than one year need a qualified electronic signature. Yes, an open-ended residential lease. It has no form requirement, so the simple electronic signature is enough. Commercial leases work too: since 2025, text form is sufficient for them. Exceptions: a fixed term of more than one year, a graduated or index-linked rent and the termination of a residential lease require written form, meaning paper or a qualified signature. Yes. A broker agreement for the sale of apartments and single-family homes requires text form, which a signed PDF meets. Insurance broker agreements, broker mandates and insurance applications have no form requirement; initial information and advisory records require text form. Only waiving advice, consent to life insurance on another person's life and arranging consumer loans require a qualified signature or paper. More on this: Sign a broker agreement digitally.

Yes, most powers of attorney have no form requirement, such as a broker mandate, a power of attorney for a tax advisor or an authorization to collect. Exceptions are lasting powers of attorney for health matters and powers of attorney for the land register, commercial register or notary. Whether a bank or authority accepts a PDF is up to them. Only when the law requires written form and allows the electronic form, for example for consumer loans, fixed-term employment contracts, leases with a fixed term of more than one year or the termination of a residential lease. A qualified signature is only available from state-supervised trust services, with identity verification and usually for a fee per signature. Yes. The result is a completely normal PDF. With “Done and flattened” it looks the same in every program: in the email app, on the phone and in any PDF reader.

No. While you're working on a document, you can use your signature several times. Close Feder, and it's gone.

Yes. In “Prepare fields” mode, you create signature, text, date and checkbox fields, mark required fields and save a fillable PDF or a template. Your client fills it in with Feder or any other PDF program. If they're sitting next to you, just hand them your tablet in client mode.

Microsoft doesn't yet know new programs without an expensive code signature. Click “More info” and “Run anyway”. The signature will follow once Feder is better known.

The app is coming. Until then, open Feder in your browser and use “Share” and “Add to Home Screen” to keep it like an app.
